The Penguins scored a bucket before the end of the frame to make it 18-6. Green Bay did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 10 of its 18 points close to the basket.

Green Bay kept its first quarter lead intact before going on another run, this time a 7-0 run starting at the 6:37 mark in the second period, highlighted by a bucket from Guyer, to increase its lead to 27-13. Both teams traded baskets as the second quarter wound down, but the Phoenix would enter the half with a 36-21 advantage.

Following intermission, Green Bay stretched its lead to 25 at 49-24 after a Bailey Butler made three pointer with 5:28 to go in the third. The Penguins would respond however, rattling off a 12-4 run to cut the deficit to 53-36 heading into the final quarter.
