LAST MATCHUP Green Bay was dominant from the get-go last Sunday afternoon and secured a huge 67-54 win over Youngstown State on the road. The Phoenix avenged their early season loss to the Penguins and moved its win streak to nine. Callie Genke paced the Phoenix with a career-high 17 points, while Cassie Schiltz tacked on 16 points and eight rebounds and Jenna Guyer chipped in as well with 15 points in 20 minutes off the bench. GB's defense held Youngstown State to only 33.3 percent shooting from the field and 17.2 percent from beyond the arc, never trailing to victory.

MANY MILESTONES Green Bay has had a Season to remember in many ways. On January 22, Tatum Koenig reached 1,000 career points in a win over Robert Morris at the Kress Center. Less than two weeks later on February 3 at Detroit Mercy, head coach Kevin Borseth tallied his 784th career victory, good for 20th all-time in NCAA women's basketball history. Two days after that on February 5, Sydney levy notched her 1,000th career point in a win at Oakland. JUMPSTART The Phoenix has lost just once in their past 21 games. Green Bay's formula for success has been dominating the first half, going into halftime with the lead in 24 of their 27 games, winning 23 of them. TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK GB has been exceptional at taking care of the ball during the 2022-23 campaign. The Phoenix has recorded the same or fewer turnovers in 19 of their 27 games. Green Bay tallied just eight turnovers last Friday at Robert Morris and six turnovers at Youngstown State last Sunday. LEAVE IT TO LEVY Senior Sydney Levy has been lights out for the Phoenix this season. She has reached double figures 15 times this season, more than the past two years combined. The Appleton North High School graduate has also paced GB in scoring in 10 games while notching her first career double-double on December 29 versus Oakland. SHOUT FOR SCHILTZ Cassie Schiltz has solidified herself as a leader for the Phoenix this season. The Luxemburg-casco graduate has appeared in 26 of GB's 27 games, starting all of the games she's appeared in. She's fourth in scoring on the squad at 8.4 points per contest. Schiltz is also the team's leading rebounder, pulling in 5.2 per game. She has racked up a team-leading 114 defensive rebounds. TOUCHDOWN TATUM Graduate guard Tatum Koenig has talents beyond the hardwood. She was the first female football player at West Branch High School in West Branch, Iowa. She was versatile for the Bears, playing Wide Receiver and Safety on the Junior Varsity squad. Koenig tallied several tackles in her first game against West Liberty. Tatum's brother Cooper was a Quarterback at West Branch. JASMANIAN DEVIL Jasmine Kondrakiewicz has proven to be an all-around threat on the offensive end for the Phoenix. She has appeared in all 27 games while starting 16. She chips in with 7.7 points per game on just 17.4 minutes per contest. A consistent shooter, 'jas' is 44.9 percent from the field (75-of-167) And 34.1 percent from deep (15-of-44). BRING ON BAILEY Reigning Horizon League Freshman of the Year Bailey Butler has been on top of her game the last six weeks. Since Green Bay's first game of 2023 at Wright State, Butler has reached double figures in nine of GB's 14 games, including four in a row from 1/5/23 to 1/14/23. She has been a mainstay on the hardwood, racking up 32 or more minutes in nine consecutive games from January 20 to February 17. NAME OF THE GAME Green Bay's offense has taken a leap from last season. In 2021-22, GB averaged 61.9 points per game, which ranked 225th in the nation. This year, the Phoenix is posting 67.7 points per contest, good for 135th in the country and fourth in the Horizon League. Green Bay's field goal percentage also climbed from 39.0 percent last season (6th in the HL) To second-highest at 43.1 percent this year. The Phoenix boasts the second-best scoring margin in the HL at +15.0, only behind Cleveland State's +19.3. DYNAMITE DEFENSE The Phoenix has historically prided itself on the defensive end of the ball, and that has continued during the 2022-23 campaign. Green Bay has held opponents to 52.6 points per game, easily the best in the Horizon League and sixth in the NCAA. GB is also number one in the Horizon League in opponent field goal percentage (32.9 percent) And second in opponent three-point percentage (25.2 percent). Additionally, GB has dominated the boards, boasting the second-best rebound margin in the league (+4.8). WIN FROM WITHIN 13 of GB's 15 players come from inside the state border. Only Jenna Guyer (Circle Pines, Minn.) and Tatum Koenig (West Branch, Iowa) are not from Wisconsin.
