NASHVILLE, Tenn. --The Lipscomb Bisons were too much for the Green Bay softball team on Wednesday, as the Phoenix lost 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix got on the scoreboard first with an RBI single in the second inning from Viviana Guzman, scoring junior Samantha Saloun from second base. However, the Phoenix was unable to hold the lead, as Lipscomb scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Bisons plated runs in a number of ways, scoring one run on a sac fly, one on an RBI single, and another on a wild pitch from Paeton Kringel.

Kringel (0-4) started in the circle for GB, pitching six innings while allowing three runs on six hits, walking three and striking out four. Brinkley Kita got the win for Lipscomb, pitching seven strong innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six.

GAME NOTES
» Kringel limited Lipscomb to just 1-for-7 (.143) with runners in scoring position.
» Lipscomb outhit GB 6-2.
» Guzman led the Phoenix at the plate, going 1-for-2 with an RBI.
» Lipscomb was led offensively by senior Elise Shewmaker, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
» Saloun was the other Phoenix to get a hit Wednesday, finishing 1-for-3 on the day.

COMING UP
Green Bay's Horizon League opening series has been moved up to Thursday-Friday. The Phoenix will take on Northern Kentucky in a doubleheader tomorrow starting at noon CT before closing the series on Friday with a single game at 11 a.m. CT.
