GREEN BAY, Wis. – In conjunction with the Horizon League releasing the 2023-24 league schedule, the Green Bay men's basketball team and head coach Sundance Wicks has unveiled GB's full 31-game slate for the upcoming season.
"When you take over a program you must keep the main things the main things," said Wicks. "You must recruit and create a team that is connected and competitive and you must make sure you do a great job with the schedule. Scheduling is one of the most time-consuming responsibilities a coach can have, and Coach Monaghan worked non-stop to make sure this schedule aligned with our mission in year one."
GB will begin the campaign by hosting St. Norbert in exhibition action on October 30. The regular season will start with a visit to Iowa State on November 6, followed by the home opener on Nov. 9 against Saint Francis. Green Bay will go back on the road for three games, visiting Valparaiso on Nov. 14 before clashing against Montana State on Nov. 20 and UC Riverside on Nov. 21 at Montana State's Worthington Arena.

The Phoenix will then return to Titletown to host St. Thomas at the Resch Center on Nov. 25. Just four days later, GB will open HL play with a road game at Purdue Fort Wayne on Nov. 29 before returning to the Resch Center for the Horizon League home opener against Milwaukee on December 2.
The Green & White will then return to non-conference play for five games, starting with a visit to SIUE on Dec. 6. GB will host Western Illinois on Dec. 9 before heading out to face former Horizon League foe UIC and the Big 12's Oklahoma. The non-conference schedule will conclude on Dec. 21 at home against MSOE.
The conference schedule then takes back over for the remainder of the season, spanning from Dec. 29 to March 2. The Phoenix has 15 home games this season and will play 11 of its 15 home games at the Resch Center.
"We have a total of 15 contests at home this year including one exhibition match." Wicks continued. "Our 23-24 slate includes three NCAA Tournament teams in Iowa State, Montana State and Northern Kentucky. We are tipping off at Iowa State from the Big 12 and as well as playing at Oklahoma. The Big 12 finished the 22-23 year rated the toughest conference in America via KenPom.com. The MTE at Montana State we are in features two teams that won over 20 games last season and both St. Thomas (Summit League) and SIUE (OVC) won 19 games a year ago. This year's schedule presents a great mixture of opportunity and alignment with where we are in our program and where we want to be in the future."
The full Green Bay basketball promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
