INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Wednesday afternoon, the Horizon League announced the 2026-27 Under Armour #HLMBB Preseason Poll. The poll is voted on by Horizon League head coaches, media members, and sports information personnel across the league.

Green Bay finished third in the poll, totaling 367 points. Defending champions Wright State were picked to finish first, with RMU taking the second slot. Oakland rounded out the top four.

GB brings a new-look roster into the 2026-27 season, with nine newcomers, including eight transfers and one freshman, leaving six players as returners from last year's roster. Phoenix Head Coach Doug Gottlieb will look to improve on a strong second season in Green Bay. A year ago, he helped lead the Phoenix to its first trip to Indianapolis in the Horizon League Tournament since 2019. GB finished with an 18-15 record and a third-place finish in conference in 2025-26. Gottlieb will welcome three new staff members to the sideline, including Green Bay's All-League point guard from a season ago, Preston Ruedinger, and former SIUE Associate Head Coach Colin Schneider as assistant coaches. Phillip Pattison also joined the staff as the Director of Basketball Operations.

Marcus Hall was selected as a member of the Preseason All-League First Team. Hall averaged 13.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game, and a 40.6 three-point percentage last year.

Green Bay begins the 2026-27 season with an exhibition game at the Resch Center against the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m. CT, followed by another exhibition game against Marquette on Monday, Oct. 19, also a 6:30 p.m. CT tip-off. Fans can purchase tickets here.
