GREEN BAY, Wis. – Head Coach Kevin Borseth announced this morning the promotion of Megan Vogel to Associate Head Coach and Sarah Bronk to Assistant Head Coach.
Vogel arrived in GB in 2013 after spending three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at St. Cloud State. She will begin her 11th season on the sidelines this year. Since she arrived in 2013, the Phoenix has made four NCAA Tournament appearances.
"Megan is a student of basketball," commented Borseth. "She is forever studying the game, keeping up to date on trends and new ideas that surround today's game. She has made a commitment to stay at Green Bay having had opportunities to leave. I've always said we need people who want to be here."
"Green Bay is a special place and Megan has embraced this," Borseth continued. "She has demonstrated a desire to lead and has been involved in all facets of our program. There is going to be a day when Megan is running her own program and I'm confident she will have a great deal of success. We are fortunate to have her at Green Bay."
Bronk has been with the Phoenix since 2007 and will enter her 17th season in Green Bay this fall. She began her coaching career as a girl's basketball and softball coach at Dover-Eyota High School in Minnesota before coming to Titletown. Bronk has been a constant in Green Bay's winning ways, helping guide the team to a combined 21 championships (12 regular season and 9 tournament). Bronk played a big role in Green Bay earning a Blue Star Basketball Top-50 nationally-ranked class honor in 2014.
"Sarah contributes so much to our program on and off the floor," said Borseth. "The players can probably attest best to Sarah's contributions since she always has the pulse of what's going on with their career advancement in school as well as their personal well-being during their stay and after graduation. She is an unbelievable asset to our program, and we are extremely fortunate to have Sarah as part of our program. She is committed to Phoenix Basketball."
