GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay women's basketball tree runs far and wide. Associate head coach Megan Vogel is joining the Phoenix Mercury as an assistant coach following the 2023-24 season. Vogel will continue coaching with Green Bay through the end of the season.
 
"How exciting for Megan to start this unique opportunity," said Head Coach Kevin Borseth. "She has invested a great deal into our program, and we are better off because of it. The Green Bay tree roots run deep and its branches wide. Our players, and now a coach, get the opportunity to move onto the next level. Green Bay Basketball is very well entrenched in our region and this adds a national perspective to the far-reaching impact of our program."
 
This season is the 11th that Vogel has been with the Phoenix, and she was recently named the Associate Head Coach during the 2022-23 season. She has been on the sidelines for some dominant Phoenix teams, and helped bring in six Horizon League regular season championships and four Horizon League tournament championships during her tenure.
 
"Our program has been known for developing players that have had a lot of success. We take a lot of pride in developing holistic players, but we also take pride in developing our coach staff," Borseth continued. "This is just another reminder that you can achieve your dreams from anywhere, especially Green Bay."
 
Borseth concluded, "Megan will be with us for the remainder of the season, so our collective focus moving forward will be preparing our team to finish the season strong."

"I would like to thank the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and Coach Kevin Borseth for the knowledge and experiences I gained over the previous 11 years that has afforded me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Vogel said.
