ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Former Phoenix Director of Basketball Operations Kari Hoffman has the Raiders near the top of the Horizon League standings entering Sunday's contest. Wright State is coming off a tough road loss Friday night at Milwaukee, where the Raiders fell 93-87 in overtime. WSU's leading scorer, Alexis Hutchison, racked up 34 points in the loss. The Raiders score nearly as many points (72.0 PPG) as they surrender (71.5 PPG), with Hutchison pacing WSU in points per game, assists per game, steals per game, and minutes per game. Overall, the Raiders spread the wealth, with four players - including Hutchison - averaging 9.5 points per game or better.

MATCHUP HISTORY
The Phoenix owns a 72-7 record against Wright State, with one of those wins coming nearly three weeks ago in Dayton, a 75-63 victory. Maddy Schreiber had 20 points to lead all scorers in the win, while Cassie Schiltz recorded a double-double (15 pts., 11 rebs.). GB's last loss to WSU was at home on December 30, 2019. The Phoenix reigned victorious in 26 of the first 27 matchups against Wright State. When hosting the Raiders, Green Bay is a whopping 36-2. HONOR THE PAST, IGNITE THE FUTURE
Today marks Alumni Day, and Chari Nordgaard's jersey will be retired. Nordgaard becomes the third Phoenix women's basketball player to have a jersey retired, with her No. 33 hanging in the rafters alongside Jeanna Barta (No. 23) and Mary Quigley (No. 40). The all-time leading scorer in Green Bay women's basketball history, Nordgaard played for the Phoenix from 1995-1999. Chari is also part of the Green Bay Phoenix Hall of Fame. Nordgaard racked up 1,964 points in her career and was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Year during the 1998-99 season. Chari was named as part of the Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Green Bay Athletics on February 28, 2020. Nordgaard also led the Phoenix to two conference championships and two NCAA Tournament First Round appearances.

JAS IN THE JUNGLE
Jasmine Kondrakiewicz was on the prowl against the Jaguars on Wednesday night, leading the Phoenix with 21 points and 12 rebounds, posting her fourth-career double-double, and her first since February 25, 2023. She shot 9-of-18 from the field and 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. The Milwaukee native also recorded two assists. 'Jas' currently paces GB in blocks with 12, averaging just over half a rejection per contest.

WELCOME (BACK) TO THE JUNGLE
Natalie Andersen returned to her collegiate roots when the Phoenix played IUPUI earlier this week. She spent her first four years with the Jaguars, appearing in 110 games. Andersen made her first career start as a Phoenix on Wednesday and had her best game of the season, posting season-highs in points (14), and minutes (32).

CASSIE CRASHING THE BOARDS
Junior guard Cassie Schiltz has been dominant from the field this season, shooting 45.1-percent overall, 41.0-percent from beyond the arc, and 92.7-percent from the charity stripe. Schiltz, who garnered her first Horizon League Player of the Week honor at the beginning of the month, also racked up 11 rebounds in GB's win at Wright State two weeks ago. Last weekend, she was in double-double territory again when she scored six points and grabbed 10 rebounds, marking the second time this season she's reached double-figure rebounding and the third time in her career.

WE THE BEST
As of January 26, Green Bay ranks in the top 50 in the country in several statistical categories, including the following:
  • Scoring Offense (76.3 PPG, 43rd)
  • Scoring Margin (+18.3, 20th)
  • Field Goal Percentage (49.5, 8th)
  • Free Throw Percentage (79.8, 8th)
  • Three-point percentage (35.8, 37th)
  • Assists per Game (18.6, 17th)
  • Turnovers per Game (11.4, 7th)
  • Fouls per Game (13.9, 24th)
  • Assist-to-turnover ratio (1.63, 4th)
KEVIN!
Head Coach Kevin Borseth is once again on the brink of another historic career milestone. After earning his 800th career win on December 13, he is two wins away from collecting his 500th win as the Head Coach of the Phoenix. KB is also just 15 victories from tallying his 600th win as a Division I Head Coach. The legendary HC is currently on track to get his 500th win with the Phoenix on Feburary 3 when Green Bay visits Cleveland State. Both programs are currently tied for first place in the Horizon League.

DOING A SUPER(LATIVE) JOB
GB has had unparalleled success during this season, but especially during the 10-game winning streak that ended last weekend. Here's a breakdown of some interesting superlatives prior to Sunday's  contest against Wright State:
  • There has been only one game that finished within three points.
  • GB is 10-0 versus winning teams.
  • All four of GB's losses are against teams that are at or below .500.
  • The Phoenix is 13-1 when scoring 70+ points.
  • Green Bay has recorded a higher field goal percentage than its opponents 16 times, reigning victorious in all 16 contests.
  • GB is 15-1 when leading at the half.
  • Green Bay is 13-0 when surrendering less than 60 points.
  • The Phoenix has held all but one opponent (Oakland on Jan. 20) to less than 50-percent shooting.
SHINING SCHREIBER
Maddy Schreiber has been a big part of Green Bay's success this season, scoring at least 12 points in 13 of the first 20 contests, including four straight prior to the UIC game a month ago. In those 13 games, GB's record is 10-3. She chipped in with 12 points in the upset win over then No. 23-ranked Washington State, 14 points in the upset victory over then No. 22-ranked Creighton, and poured in a career-high 23 points in the win over Milwaukee on November 30. Schreiber tallied 16 points in the win over Cleveland State a couple weekends ago before tallying 12 points in GB's win over Robert Morris. Maddy recorded her first career double-double in the win over IUPUI on Wednesday, tallying 13 points and 11 rebounds. Her 11 rebounds are a career-high.

TAKING NOTE
When Green Bay wins this season, they dominate. The Phoenix ranks 20th in scoring margin, winning by an average of 18.3 points per game. Green Bay is also 15-1 in games where the final score was decided by 11 or more points. GB's close defeat to Oakland was the first game that Green Bay has had finish within 10 points since the beginning of the team's 10-game win streak, a 64-56 win over UIC in mid-December. The Phoenix recorded its first 10+-game win streak since the program ripped off 13 victories in a row from January 22-March 6, 2023 last season with the win over Detroit Mercy last week Thursday.

NAT ATTACK
Natalie McNeal has been a rebounding machine this season, pacing the squad with 6.0 rebounds per game. The fourth-year player from Germantown, Wisconsin is in her second season as a Phoenix after spending her first two collegiate years with Saint Louis. Her 6.0 RPG is currently on pace for a career-high. Her previous high was 5.3 RPG with the Billikens during the 2021-22 season. McNeal tied her season-high in rebounds with nine last Thursday night against Youngstown State, finishing one rebound shy of her fifth career double-double. McNeal dominated in the loss against Oakland last Saturday, racking up a career-high 24 points.

WELCOME TO TITLETOWN
The Phoenix boasts a trio of true freshmen (Maren WestinSophie Lahti, and Meghan Schultz) and one transfer (Natalie Andersen, IUPUI). Westin and Andersen are guards, while Lahti and Schultz bring height to the forward position. Schultz stands at six feet, four inches, surpassing Kendall Renard as the tallest player on the team. The Phoenix once again boast a roster of mostly homegrown talent. Of the 13 players on the roster, 10 are from the dairyland. Only Westin (Becker, Minn.), Lahti (Pine City, Minn.), and Jenna Guyer (Circle Pines, Minn.) are not from Wisconsin.
