GREEN BAY, WI --The Green Bay volleyball team cruised to a three-set win (25-22, 25-20, 25-22) against Northern Kentucky Friday at home at the Kress Events Center. Green Bay's record improved to 10-15 overall and 7-6 in the Horizon League.
Katie Schulz finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Phoenix attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .368. Abby Gardner and Calli Gentry both had 10 digs for Green Bay. Diane Pichelman and Gentry each finished four blocks. Gentry also finished with a game-high 27 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Green Bay and Northern Kentucky were tied at 19 before the Phoenix rattled off four consecutive points en route to a 25-22 victory. Olivia Neumann led GB with three kills in the set.
SET 2 | Northern Kentucky led Green Bay 11-8 when the Phoenix ripped off five points in a row to take a 13-11 lead. Danilynn Schell downed four kills out of the last five points to secure the set for GB at 25-20.
SET 3 | It looked like NKU might extend the night, leading 19-17 in the third set. However, Green Bay would score six of the next seven points to lead 23-20 and seal up the match win for good. Green Bay's front row had a solid defensive performance in the set, blocking five Northern Kentucky attacks.
