Calli Gentry and Abby Gardner Named to the Valeo #HLVB All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Tuesday afternoon the Horizon League announced the 2024 Valeo #HLVB All-Academic Team. Calli Gentry and Abby Gardner represented the Green Bay volleyball team on the recipient list.

Calli Gentry has been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team for the third time in her career. The Redshirt-senior has been outstanding this year collecting 1,047 assists and 9.64 assists per set, the fourth-most in the HL. This year Gentry surpassed the 4,000-career assist mark and is now third all-time in career assists for the Phoenix. Gentry is also an eight-time member of the HL Academic Honor Roll.

Standout libero Abby Gardner was the second Phoenix honored by the league Tuesday afternoon. Gardner, the only Phoenix to play in all 115 sets this year, led the Phoenix in digs with 443 on the season. Her 3.75 digs per set is the tenth-most in the Horizon League.

Gentry is pursuing a Master of Science in Management, while Gardner is working toward her nursing degree.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 17 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
