ABOUT THE CAVALIERS
Virginia, after posting a .500 record the last two seasons, is off to a blazing start thanks to a thriving offense that averages 80.2 points per game. Kymore Johnson is a big reason for that, pacing the Cavaliers at 17.3 points per contest. The Thanksgiving Day matchup will be just the third all-time between VA and GB and the first since 2015. Green Bay won the first meeting 69-67 in 2010 before dropping the last matchup 59-68.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Green Bay will face off against Drake for the 10th time overall and the fifth time in the last 10 years on Friday. The Phoenix has found recent success against the Bulldogs, downing Drake in four of the last five and five of the last seven meetings. Katie Dinnebier leads the Bulldogs at a whopping 23.6 points per game, while Anna Miller paces the team with 10.8 rebounds per game. Head coach Allison Pohlman is in her fourth season as a collegiate head coach, all spent with the Bulldogs, posting a 73-33 record going into the Puerto Rico Shootout.
ABOUT THE SPARTANS
Green Bay will conclude the Puerto Rico Shootout with it's first-ever matchup against Norfolk State on Saturday morning. The Spartans enter Thanksgiving weekend with a 6-1 record having won three consecutive. Diamond Johnson leads the team with 18.7 points per game. Head coach Larry Vickers, a Norfolk State graduate of 2008, is in his 10th season as a collegiate head coach, all with the Spartans, having posted an impressive 153-95 record going into the holiday weekend. Norfolk State is solid defensively, surrendering just 57.6 points per game.

Green Bay ranks similarly among their three Puerto Rico Shootout opponent in NET rank, according to CBS Sports. The Phoenix is ranked 53rd, best among all Horizon League programs, while Virginia is 62nd, Drake 65th, and Norfolk State 118th. As of November 25, Drake is sixth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll, while Norfolk State is 10th and Green Bay is slotted at 15th.
2. RIGHTFULLY REWARDED
The Horizon League announced on Monday afternoon that McNeal was honored with the Under Armour Player of the Week award.
Maddy Schreiber has been named Under Armour Player of the Week. It is McNeal's second such award as a Phoenix, earning the honor on February 12, 2024. No. 11 played an integral role in Green Bay downing DePaul this past Thursday, scoring a team-high 17 points. McNeal paces Green Bay in field goals made and attempted, free throws made, free throw percentage, points, and defensive rebounds. Teammate
Maddy Schreiber won the award last week.
3. MAJOR MILESTONES
A couple Phoenix may hit major milestones during the Puerto Rico Shootout.
4. 1,000 REASONS
Natalie McNeal has been reliable to begin her 2024-25 campaign. No. 11 has made 28 of 59 field goals so far and has drilled 11 of 13 attempts from the charity stripe. McNeal has been one of Green Bay's best rebounders as well, averaging 4.8 per game, only trailing
Jasmine Kondrakiewicz. McNeal is on the brink of scoring her 1,000th career point, currently with 996. Natalie also set a career-high with six assists at UIC on November 13.
5. THERE GOES GUYER!
Center/forward
