Women's Basketball Holding Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Game Saturday

Custom jerseys to be worn displaying a baby's name

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's basketball team is ready to host the program's first-ever Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Game, presented by Prevea Health, tomorrow, December 21st, as the team welcomes Parkside.

The idea of the game began because of Head Coach Kayla Karius and her husband Rick, who lost their second son Macklin at just 22 days old to a birth defect. No infant loss story is the same and they are all unfathomable. The team is supporting other families going through something similar by giving them community and some hope.

To honor those families and babies gone too soon, the team will be wearing special jerseys. Instead of a player's name on the back, each jersey will have the name of a baby. The jerseys display angel wings on the back and baby feet on the shorts. The families will join the team on the court prior to tipoff and a video will be played on the videoboard prior to the National Anthem.

Tipoff for tomorrow's game is at 1 PM. Purchase tickets here.
