INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Green Bay men's basketball team fell in their Horizon League opener on the road at IU Indy, 84-75 on Wednesday night. The Phoenix led at the half, but a 48-33 second half for the Jaguars was the difference on the night.
Anthony Roy had another outstanding night, pouring in 34 points to go with seven rebounds to lead the Phoenix. Foster Wonders helped out with 14 points and Marcus Hall chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.
Jarvis Walker led the Jaguars with 25 points on the night. Four other Jaguars finished the night in double figures, with DeSean Goode finishing with 16, Alec Millender with 15, Sean Craig with 12, and Paul Zilinskas with 11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 10-4, Green Bay went on a 10-0 run with 16:34 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Wonders, to take a 14-10 lead. The Phoenix then added two points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 42-36 advantage after a Hall floater as time expired at the half. Green Bay relied on its three-point shooting during the first, knocking down six shots to account for 18 of its 42 points.
IU Indianapolis proceeded to take a 49-47 lead before Green Bay went on a 7-0 run to seize a 54-49 lead with 13:42 to go in the contest. IU Indianapolis re-asserted control, outscoring the Phoenix 35-21 the rest of the way to hand Green Bay the 84-75 loss.
GAME NOTES
» Green Bay outshot the Jaguars on the night, shooting 47.1-percent to IU Indy's 45.5-percent.
» Anthony Roy, Foster Wonders, and Marcus Hall combined to account for 79 percent of the Phoenix points.
» Roy has scored 30+ points in five of GB's nine games, including four of the last five games.
» IUI outrebounded GB 39-31.
» The Jaguars had 32 points in the paint to GB's 20.

The Phoenix will look to snap their losing streak this Saturday when they host Cleveland State in their Horizon League home opener. The two teams will tip off at the Resch Center at 2 p.m. CT.
