INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Monday afternoon the Horizon League announced that Green Bay Freshman
David Douglas Jr. has won his second straight Freshman of the Week honor, and fourth on the season. Phoenix Freshmen have won the award for four straight weeks, with
Marcus Hall getting the honor on January 22.
In recent weeks, Douglas has turned into a primary offensive weapon for Green Bay and continued his strong play with a game-high 20 points in GB's 79-56 win over IUPUI this week. Douglas played 29 minutes off the bench and came alive in the second half, scoring 17 points in the frame. The Yorkville, Ill. native has scored 20+ points in two straight games and in three out of his last four.
GB is tied atop the HL standings with Oakland at 10-3, and will hit the road this weekend. The Phoenix will travel to Robert Morris on Thursday before heading to Youngstown State on Saturday.
