GREEN BAY, Wis. – Head Coach Kayla Karius announced this afternoon the hiring of Allie Alexander (LeClaire) as an assistant coach. Alexander is likely a familiar face to Phoenix fans, having played at Green Bay from 2014-2018. Alexander is also a native of Green Bay and attended Notre Dame Academy during her prep days.

"Allie is a tremendous example for young players of what it looks like to stay local, showcase your great talent, and have the community rally around your success," commented Karius. "As Phoenix fans remember, Allie is a competitor and a winner! We are thrilled she is home and giving back to the program that gave her so much. Welcome back to Titletown, Allie!".

Alexander joins Green Bay from Eastern Illinois, where she was most recently the Assistant Head Coach under former Phoenix head coach Matt Bollant. She was originally brought onto the EIU staff in 2021 as an assistant before being promoted in 2023. Alexander helped coach three First Team All-OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) selections, 2024 OVC Conference Player of the Year Macy McGlone, and three 1,000-point scorers. She also assisted in guiding the Panthers' defense rank 42nd in field goal percentage allowed in 2022-23. In 2021-22, EIU ranked 30th in the country in assists per game and 12th in steals per game. During the 2022-23 campaign, Eastern Illinois spent six weeks ranked inside the Mid-Major Top 25 poll en route to a 21-8 finish and an OVC Tournament semifinal appearance.

She has a plethora of coaching and playing experience, beginning her collegiate career in 2014. LeClaire is one of 38 members in the Green Bay 1,000-point club and ranks in the top-10 in program history in three-point field goals made and ranks inside the top three in games played. Alexander led the Green and White in scoring during the 2015-16 season, averaging 12.5 points. At the end of the 2017-2018 season, when Green Bay ranked inside the Associated Press Top-25 poll, she was named Second Team All-Horizon and garnered Tournament MVP honors after the Phoenix captured its fourth consecutive Horizon League Championship. Alexander was part of all four consecutive championships, making the NCAA Tournament each year she played at Green Bay.

Following her highly successful career with the Phoenix, she played professionally with the Liffey Celtics, a club located in Ireland. Alexander returned to her home state the following year and joined the Wisconsin GLO, a professional team located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, about an hour south of Titletown. Her final year spent as a player in professional basketball came with Good Angels Kosice, based in Kosice, Slovakia.
