Sophomore goalkeeper hasn't allowed a goal in last 3.5 games

DAYTON, Ohio – The Green Bay women's soccer team opened up Horizon League action at Wright State on Thursday evening, and a hard-fought battle ended in a 0-0 draw.

Senah Hanes had three shots in the contest, tied for the most among all players. GB remains unbeaten in its last four straight and moved to 2-3-3 overall (0-0-1 HL) while the Raiders went to 2-6-1 overall (0-0-1 HL).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both squads had a shot on goal in the first couple of minutes but came up empty. WSU's Elise Canter had a shot on goal in the 21st minute that was saved by GB goalkeeper Mallorie Benhart. Hanna Arvay answered with a SOG in the ensuing minute, but Raiders goalkeeper Kiera Sarka came up with the stop. Mylee Sturkey had one last opportunity for Wright State not long before halftime but Benhart made another save, and the teams went into the locker room tied 0-0.

There wasn't much offense generated in the second half until Laney Stark fired a shot wide right in the 58th minute. Five minutes later, Arvay blasted a shot high over the crossbar. GB had a couple of chances in the 64th and 65th minutes, first on Aixa Helbringer-Escobar's shot before Sydney Bollis forced a save by Sarka. Hanes had another shot in the 75th minute but Sarka tallied another save. The Phoenix survived a late attempt in the box by WSU. Allison Charleston had a shot that rolled around on the turf before Zara Graff tapped it right to Benhart, who dove on the ball for the save. There was one last shot by the Phoenix in the 89th minute by Trudy Quidzinski but it missed wide left, and the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
