Emala O'Brien has made a strong effort in the Titans' success, averaging a team-best 2.2 assists per game and 2.1 steals per contest. Detroit Mercy scores nearly as much as it surrenders, scoring 67.1 PPG while giving up 67.8 points per game. Head Coach Kate Achter is in her third season with the Titans, recording a 33-45 record going into the Thursday night battle. Achter, in her ninth season as a collegiate head coach, recorded her 100th career victory with a win over Oakland this past Saturday.
Green Bay has gotten the best of the Titans in the all-time series, dominating with a 60-8 record. GB has won the last 14 meetings, not having lost to UDM since February 4, 2017. The Green and White is also a whopping 33-2 when hosting the Titans, taking care of business in the last 14 home meetings.
1. TRIVIA TIME
This week's question for Trivia Tuesday, sponsored by Circle K, was: who scored the first points inside the Kress Center for the Green Bay women's basketball team? The correct answer was Kati Harty (Coleman), who knocked down a free throw early in the first half. Kayla Tetschlag (Karius) was the first substitution, replacing Erin Templin. 2. ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN
With a win Thursday night, Green Bay will record its 1,100th overall win since the program's inception in 1973. A win over IU Indy (formerly IUPUI) on December 4 gave the Phoenix 450 vcitories all-time between the program's time in the MCC and Horizon League. GB currently sits at 455 conference wins all-time, by far the most in the conference. Milwaukee (276) and Detroit Mercy (273) trails the Phoenix.
3. MIAH MAKING HER MARK
Miah Meyer (Monahan) stepped up big for the Phoenix in the absence of
Bailey Butler (injury) last Saturday against Robert Morris. The senior guard played 36 minutes and filled the stat sheet, scoring eight points on 3-of-7 shooting, three rebounds, five assists, and one steal. A native of Silver Lake, Minnesota, Meyer is shooting 38.6 percent overall this season while tallying 45 assists, second-most on the team only behind Butler's 85.
4. MIDDY McNEAL
Natalie McNeal was named the Player of the Week by the Horizon League on Monday, the third time in her Green Bay career to win the award and second time this season. Previously awarded the accolade on November 25, 2024, McNeal dominated against Robert Morris this past Saturday. She recorded her 10th career double-double – eighth with Green Bay – by posting 22 points (which led all players) and 18 rebounds (also led all players). She was a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe and also tallied five assists, one shy of her career-high.
