ABOUT THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland is 7-10 and 5-3 in the Horizon League entering Saturday's contest after beating Milwaukee on Thursday night. Maddy Skorupski is having a tremendous 2024-25 campaign for the Golden Grizzlies, pacing the team in points (17.4 PPG), assists (3.1 APG), steals (3.0 SPG), and minutes (34.8 MPG). Macy Smith is the squad's second-leading scorer at 12.6 points per contest. Madison Royal-Davis is Oakland's best rebounder, grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game.

Head Coach Jeff Tungate retired effective immediately on December 9, 2024, and Deanna Richard was slotted into the Interim HC position. Richard had 18 years of head coaching experience prior to her elevation last month, posting a 197-290 record before her tenure as Interim began. So far, the Golden Grizzlies are 4-4 under her guidance. Richard graduated from Oakland in 1996.

Green Bay has had a lot of success against Oakland in recent years, winning eight of the last 10 and 11 of the last 13. GB has surrendered 58 or fewer points to Oakland in each of the last seven home meetings. GB last saw Oakland on February 22, 2024, in a 74-45 rout behind Maddy Schreiber's 15 points. GB had four players score nine or more points in the win. 1. CASH MONEY CASS
Cassie Schiltz is shining in her final season with the Phoenix. She had a season-best 20 points and 10 rebounds, just her second double-double of her career. No. 1 is shooting 42 percent overall, 43.48 percent from beyond the arc, and is a perfect 15-for-15 from the charity stripe. Schiltz also ranks inside the top eight in program history with 173 three-point field goals made. Schiltz was named Horizon League Player of the Week on January 6 for the second time in her career.

2. MIDDY McNEAL
Natalie McNeal was named the Player of the Week by the Horizon League on Monday, the third time in her Green Bay career to win the award and second time this season. Previously awarded the accolade on November 25, 2024, McNeal dominated against Robert Morris this past Saturday. She recorded her 10th career double-double – eighth with Green Bay – by posting 22 points (which led all players) and 18 rebounds (also led all players). She was a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe and also tallied five assists, one shy of her career-high.

3. ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN
With the victory Thursday night against the Titans, Green Bay recorded its 1,100th overall win since the program's inception in 1973. A win over IU Indy (formerly IUPUI) on December 4 gave the Phoenix 450 victories all-time between the program's time in the MCC and Horizon League. GB sits at 456 conference wins all-time, by far the most in the conference. Milwaukee (276) and Detroit Mercy (273) trails the Phoenix.

4. KONDRAKIEWICZ IS COOKIN'
Jasmine Kondrakiewicz is having a superb season. She leads the team in rebounds, steals, and blocks. Kondrakiewicz has grabbed 131 rebounds, which ranks 131st in the nation. 'Jas' became the 40th player in program history to reach 1,000 points in the win over Detroit Mercy on Thursday night, making a layup with 4:40 remaining in the fourth quarter. She notched her 100th career block on January 2 against Northern Kentucky. Her seven steals against Ripon College last month were a career-high, while also recording her seventh career double-double against Ripon (14 pts., 13 rebs.). GB's win over Wright State on January 4 was the 100th win she's been part of in her career.

5. BIG J STEPPING UP BIG
Jenna Guyer has been a crucial part of Green Bay's success this season. 'Big J' posted 18 points against Parkside on December 21, a career-high, before following it up with a new career-high 22 points against Northern Kentucky on January 2. Against Wright State on January 4, she grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds. Guyer has scored at least seven points in 12 of GB's 19 matchups.
