FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Saturday was a historic day for the Green Bay Cross Country program. For the first time in program history, an individual Phoenix men's runner won the Horizon League Championships. Noah Jahnke, the junior from Green Bay, Wisconsin, took first place with an 8K time of 23:38.4, nearly ten seconds better than NKU's Natnael Weldemichael, who finished second.

As a team, the Phoenix men finished fourth overall, also their highest finish in program history. Mason Gates and Ethan Onesti were key to this finish, with themselves crossing the finish line in 14th and 15th, with times of 24:27.4 and 24:30.0, respectively. Gates just made the All-Horizon League Second Team cut, while Jahnke finished First Team. The Green Bay men finished with 124 points, while the winners, Youngstown State, had just 50.
The Phoenix also had a standout performance on the women's side. Cianna Wipperfurth, the freshman from Waunakee, Wisconsin, finished in 10th place with a 6K time of 21:27.8. That strong performance also earned her a spot on the All-Horizon League Second Team. Lia Peterson and Madison Lotten rounded out the top three for GB, finishing 30th and 31st, respectively.
As a team, the Green Bay women finished fifth with 147 points. Youngstown State also won on the women's side with 54 points.
