GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's basketball team is set to host two consecutive non-conference home games this week. The first will be on Tuesday against North Dakota at 6 p.m. and Thursday at 11 a.m. against New Hampshire. The Phoenix is coming off a 55-46 victory over Loyola Chicago on Thursday and is 2-0 on the season.

ABOUT THE FIGHTING HAWKS
Head Coach Dennis Hutter is in his first season at the helm of North Dakota. He previously spent his last 19 years at NAIA Mayville State, where he compiled a 258-102 record. The Fighting Hawks lost their first two games of the season to Minnesota 91-47 and to Youngstown State 65-58. Walker Demers averages 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Ava Miller is North Dakota's second leading scorer at 10.5 points and is first on the team in rebounds per game, averaging 9.5.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Megan Shoniker is in her second season at New Hampshire, posting a 10-20 record last season. New Hampshire is 1-1 to start the 2025-26 season, defeating Worcester State 72-32 and losing to Boston College 69-57. Eva Dechent leads New Hampshire, averaging 22 points and 5.5 rebounds per game
. Camryn Fauria averages 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Katie Ledden is also a key contributor, averaging 8.5 points and five rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT
The Green Bay women's basketball team won its first road game of the 2025-26 season last Thursday night, defeating Loyola Chicago 55-46.
Maddy Skorupski led the Phoenix in points with 15 and recorded five steals.
Ellie Buzzelle scored a career-high 12 points and led the team in rebounds with seven.
Carley Duffney contributed seven points and five rebounds, while
Kamy Peppler had six points and six assists.
BALLER BUZZ
Senior
Ellie Buzzelle has been a key part of Green Bay's early-season success. Buzzelle is tied for third on the team in points per game at 10.0 and is leading the team in rebounds per game with 7.5. Buzzelle also scored a career-high since joining Green Bay last season, with 12 points on Thursday against Loyola Chicago. She also recorded a career high in rebounds with eight against Wisconsin-Stevens Point last Monday.
A KEY ADDITION
Former Oakland standout and the lone Horizon League All-League player left in the league from a season ago,
Maddy Skorupski, will wear the Green & White in her senior season. Skorupski is second on the team in points per game at 10.5 and third on the team in rebounds per game at 6.0. She is also first on the team, averaging 3.0 steals per game.
CARLEY'S COMEBACK
A disciple of
Kayla Karius during their time together at South Dakota, the two-time CSC Academic All-District and former 1,000-point scorer of Green Bay Preble High School returns home to Green Bay as a senior. Through two games, Duffney is averaging 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 56.3 percent from the field. Duffney scored a season-high 12 points in a win over Wisconsin-Stevens Point last Monday.
POINT PEPPLER
Previously an All-Freshman Team selection for the Horizon League in 2022-23, and the 2022 Wisconsin Miss Basketball award winner,
Kamy Peppler spent the last three seasons with Milwaukee in the Horizon League. The Hortonville, Wis. native, is averaging seven points and is the team leader in assists, averaging 6.5 per game.
MAGNIFICENT MEGHAN
Redshirt-Sophomore
Meghan Schultz made her first career start in a win against Wisconsin-Stevens Point last Monday. Schultz recorded career-highs in points with 20 and rebounds with nine. Schultz also contributed six points, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in the Phoenix win at Loyola Chicago Thursday night.
PHOENIX FAMILY
Two pairs of sisters will see their first action in Green Bay together this season. The duo of Kamy and
Kallie Peppler each transferred from Milwaukee, and
Julianna Ouimette, who spent last season as a redshirt, welcomes her younger sister Kristina to the Tundra. Green Bay is one of two teams in DI with a pair of sisters on the team (Montana State is the other).
KARIUS ERA
After winning the Horizon League and making the NCAA Tournament in her first season as the Phoenix, Head Coach
Kayla Karius will look to do the same in year two with an overhauled roster. Green Bay graduated seven seniors and 85.2% of its scoring from 2024-25. The 2025-26 Phoenix features eight newcomers, consisting of six transfers and two true freshmen. After two seasons as the head coach at South Dakota and her season with the Phoenix, Karius holds an all-time coaching record of 66-35.
