ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Head Coach Jeff Mittie is in his 34th season as a head coach, his 12th season at Kansas State. Mittie led the Wildcats to a Sweet-16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament last season. Kansas State is 4-2 to start the 2025-26 season. Taryn Sides leads KSU, averaging 12.7 points per game, while being second on the team in assists per game at 4.3. Nastja Claessens is averaging 9.7 points, and Izela Arenas is right behind at 9.2 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green Bay women's basketball team battled against Wisconsin but fell to the Badgers 76-72 on Sunday afternoon. Green Bay had three players in double figures, led by Meghan Schultz, who had 22 points, and her third 20-point game of the season. Kamy Peppler added a season-high 15 points and six assists, and Carley Duffney helped out with 11 points, four assists, and two steals.

KARIUS ERA
After winning the Horizon League and making the NCAA Tournament in her first season as the Phoenix Head Coach, Kayla Karius will look to do the same in year two with an overhauled roster. Green Bay graduated seven seniors and 85.2% of its scoring from 2024-25. The 2025-26 Phoenix features eight newcomers, consisting of six transfers and two true freshmen. After two seasons as the head coach at South Dakota and her season with the Phoenix, Karius holds an all-time record of 66-35.

MAGNIFICENT MEGHAN
Redshirt-Sophomore Meghan Schultz once again dominated in the team's 67-43 victory over North Dakota on Tuesday, scoring a career-high 26 points. Schultz also led the Phoenix in points with 22 in a 76-72 loss to Wisconsin on Sunday. Schultz is leading the team in points per game, averaging 17.2, and is third on the team in rebounds per game with 4.6.

BALLER BUZZ
Senior Ellie Buzzelle has been a key part of Green Bay's early-season success. So far this season, Buzzelle is averaging 6.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Buzzelle also scored a career-high since joining Green Bay last season, with 12 points on Nov. 6 against Loyola Chicago. Buzzelle had an efficient shooting day, converting on all three of her three pointers, scoring 11 points, and recording four assists in a win over New Hampshire last Thursday.

A KEY ADDITION
Former Oakland standout and the lone Horizon League All-League player left in the league from a season ago, Maddy Skorupski, will wear the Green & White in her senior season. Skorupski is fourth on the team in points per game at 9.2 and second in assists per game, averaging 4.4. She is leading the Phoenix with six rebounds per game and 2.4 steals per game. The native of Clarkston, Mich., was the leading scorer for Green Bay in their win over Loyola Chicago on Nov. 6, tallying 15 points.

CARLEY'S COMEBACK
A disciple of Kayla Karius during their time together at South Dakota, the two-time CSC Academic All-District and former 1,000-point scorer of Green Bay Preble High School returns home to Green Bay as a senior. Through five games, Duffney is averaging 11.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Duffney scored 13 points against both North Dakota and New Hampshire this week.

POINT PEPPLER
Previously an All-Freshman Team selection for the Horizon League in 2022-23, and the 2022 Wisconsin Miss Basketball award winner, Kamy Peppler spent the last three seasons with Milwaukee in the Horizon League. The Hortonville, Wis. native, is averaging 9.6 points and is first on the team in assists, averaging 5.2 per game. Peppler recorded a season-high 15 points in Green Bay's loss to Wisconsin on Sunday.

WINNING WITH KARIUS
Head Coach Kayla Karius earned her 70th career win in her fourth season as an NCAA Division I head coach on Thursday, with a 76-64 win against New Hampshire.

PHOENIX FAMILY
Two pairs of sisters will see their first action in Green Bay together this season. The duo of Kamy and Kallie Peppler each transferred from Milwaukee, and Julianna Ouimette, who spent last season as a redshirt, welcomes her younger sister Kristina to the Tundra. Green Bay is one of two teams in DI with a pair of sisters on the team (Montana State is the other).
