Green Bay Set to Resume Horizon League Play at Wright State

Dayton, OHIO - The Green Bay women's basketball team looks to rebound after a 66-50 loss on the road at Miami (OH). The Phoenix will pick up Horizon League play at Wright State tomorrow night.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS
Wright State is led by fifth-year head coach Kari Hoffman, who holds a 45-89 record over her Raiders career. The Raiders are led by a pair of double-digit scorers. Breezie Williams leads the team at 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while Claire Henson averages 10.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Wright State is one of the best three point shooting teams in the Horizon League, making a league-high 7.9 per game, while shooting 32.5-percent, the third-best mark in the HL.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green Bay women's basketball team wrapped up nonconference play on Saturday, falling at Miami (OH) 66-50. The Phoenix (8-5) had two players score in double figures, led by Jenna Guyer, who had 12 points. Kristina Ouimette tacked on 11 points off the bench, and Maddy Skorupski added five points, six rebounds, and two steals. Miami (OH) had four players in double figures, led by 20 points and five rebounds by Ilse de Vries.

PROTECT HOME COURT
Green Bay has been strong at home in 2025-26, starting the year 5-0. The Phoenix is 3-3 on the road and 0-2 on a neutral court.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL MIDMAJOR POLL
Green Bay has been in the top five of the CollegeInsider Women's Basketball Top 25 Poll all season long. As of December 23, the Phoenix is #7 in the poll.

MEG-NIFICENT MEGHAN
Redshirt-Sophomore Meghan Schultz has had a breakout season, and leads the Phoeinx, scoring 13.8 points and second in rebounds at 5.0 per game. Schultz has scored in double figures in nine of GB's 13 games.

PASSING PEPPLER
Milwaukee transfer and senior guard Kamy Peppler runs the Green Bay offense from the point guard position. Peppler leads the Horizon League, dishing out 5.0 assists per game. Peppler has started all 13 GB games, and is averaging 7.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.1 rebounds.

SCORING SKORUPSKI
Former Oakland standout and one of two Horizon League All-League player left in the league from a season ago, Maddy Skorupski, will wear the Green & White in her senior season. Skorupski is third on the team in points per game at 9.2 and second in assists per game, averaging 3.7 (also second in the HL). She leads the Phoenix with 1.5 steals and is second in rebounds at 5.2.

CARLEY COMING HOME
A disciple of Kayla Karius during their time together at South Dakota, the two-time CSC Academic All-District player of Green Bay Preble High School scored her 1,000th career collegiate point in the team's victory over Youngstown State on Dec. 7. Through 13 games, Duffney is averaging 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Duffney has scored in double figures in six out of GB's 13 games.

GUYER ON FIRE
Jenna Guyer has made the most of her minutes since returning to the Phoenix lineup. Guyer led Green Bay in scoring throughout the Cancun Challenge, scoring 15 against NC State last Thursday, and 16 points in 19 minutes against Richmond on Friday. Guyer is second on the team in scoring, with 12.0 points per game in 26.9 minutes per game. Guyer was named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team for averaging 15.5 points and 2.5 rebounds across her two games.

WINNING WITH KARIUS
Head Coach Kayla Karius earned her 70th career win in her fourth season as an NCAA Division I head coach with a 76-64 win against New Hampshire on Nov. 13, 2025.

KARIUS ERA
After winning the Horizon League and making the NCAA Tournament in her first season as the Phoenix Head Coach, Kayla Karius will look to do the same in year two with an overhauled roster. Green Bay graduated seven seniors and 85.2% of its scoring from 2024-25. The 2025-26 Phoenix features eight newcomers, consisting of six transfers and two true freshmen. After two seasons as the head coach at South Dakota and her season with the Phoenix, Karius holds an all-time record of 74-41.
