GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Men's Basketball team is set to face Robert Morris in its Horizon League opener at the Kress Event Center on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. CST. Following, the Phoenix will travel to Dayton, Ohio, to take on Wright State on Sunday at 4 p.m. CST.
"The Horizon League is well coached and extremely physical," said Head Coach

ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS
Robert Morris is led by 16th-year head coach Andy Toole, who led the Colonials to the NCAA tournament last season. RMU is 6-3 so far this season and is currently on a three-game winning streak. Nikolaos Chitikoudis leads RMU, averaging 13.1 points, and is second on the team, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game. Ryan Prather Jr. is also a key contributor, averaging 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. DeSean Goode also averages 11.1 points and leads the Colonials in rebounds per game, averaging 9.1.
ABOUT WRIGHT STATE
The Raiders are led by second-year head coach Clint Sargent, who led the Raiders to a 15-18 record in his first season in 2024-25. Through eight games this year, Wright State is 4-4 and is set for a matchup at Youngstown State tonight at 5:30 p.m. CST. Wright State is outscoring opponents by 12.9 points per game and is led by a trio of double-digit scorers. Freshman Guard Michael Cooper leads the team at 14.4 points per game, shooting 47.3-percent from the field and 41.0-percent from three. Michael Imariagbe leads the WSU frontcourt, averaging 10.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Solomon Callaghan is averaging 10.3 points per game, and is also a three-point marksman, shooting 40.5-percent from deep.
LAST TIME OUT
Green Bay defeated Haskell Indian Nations 95-55 for its third consecutive win last Saturday at the Kress Center.
Preston Ruedinger poured in a career-high 30 points to lead the Phoenix.
Ramel Bethea helped out with a career-high 15 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.
C.J. O'Hara chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds. Green Bay forced 17 turnovers and collected 14 offensive rebounds in the win.
PROTECT HOME COURT
Green Bay has had early success at home during the 2025-26 season, sitting unbeaten at 2-0. Green Bay is also 2-1 in neutral-site contests. The Phoenix will look to grab its first road win on Sunday at Wright State.
NET IMPROVEMENT
Green Bay cracked the top 200 in the NCAA's first NET rankings release on Dec. 1. The Phoenix currently sits at 199, sixth-best in the Horizon League.
WIN TOTAL
It took nine games for the 2025-26 Phoenix to match the win total of the 2024-25 Phoenix. Green Bay sits 4-5 heading into Horizon League play after entering HL play a year ago with a 2-7 record. GB will look to match and exceed its Horizon League win total from a year ago quickly, having finished 2-18 in league play last year.
MONEY MARCUS
Phoenix forward
Marcus Hall is the highest returning leading scorer for the Phoenix this season. Through six games, Hall is averaging 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in 35.2 minutes per game. Hall was named to the Horizon League Preseason First Team on October 8. On top of leading the Phoenix in scoring their game against Ripon, Hall became the first Phoenix player this season to record a double-double with his 21 points and 10 rebounds. Hall suffered a lower-body injury at Paradise Jam and is currently day-to-day.
O'MAZING O'HARA
C.J. O'Hara is in his second season at Green Bay and has started in all nine games so far this season. O'Hara is second on the team, averaging 12.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and third at 30.3 minutes per game. O'Hara had an outstanding weekend at Paradise Jam last week, averaging 17.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in the Virgin Islands.
CLUTCH RUDY
A prominent leader for the Phoenix is redshirt-senior guard
Preston Ruedinger. Ruedinger, along with
C.J. O'Hara, has started all nine games so far this season and plays the second-most minutes per game on the team at 33.2. Rudy hit a clutch three-pointer, followed by a game-tying layup to force overtime at Minnesota on Nov. 15, and finished with a team-high 15 points, six assists, and 41 minutes played. Ruedinger scored a career-high 30 points in a win over Haskell on Nov. 29.
ALL-IN ALLEN
Senior guard
Justin Allen was another Phoenix with an outstanding weekend in the Virgin Islands. The Carnegie Mellon transfer averaged 20.3 points per game in the three games and was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team. In Green Bay's final two games in the tournament, Allen scored 27 and 28 points off the bench for the Phoenix.
YEAR TWO
Heading into the 2025-26 season,
Doug Gottlieb enters his second year as the head coach of Green Bay men's basketball. Gottlieb, well-known for his broadcasting career, brings with him a wealth of experience as a player, commentator, analyst, and coach in the basketball world. As a broadcaster, he currently hosts the
Doug Gottlieb show on Fox Sports Radio and All Ball, a podcast covering the biggest stories across college basketball and the NBA.
INTERNATIONAL TALENT
The 2025-26 Phoenix roster features players from two different foreign countries and 11 from different U.S. states.
Maruan Cicic is from Montenegro, and
Vukasin Todorovic is from Slovenia.
NEW ERA SAME RISE
After a season with 12 newcomers a season ago, the 2025-26 Green Bay roster will bring in 10 newcomers this year. Of GB's rostered players, six are returners, six are transfers, and four are true freshmen.
FAMILIAR FACES
Multiple returners will play large roles in the upcoming 2025-26 season, including
Marcus Hall,
Preston Ruedinger,
Mac Wrecke, and
C.J. O'Hara. Last season, Hall averaged 13.9, Ruedinger averaged 8.0, Wrecke averaged 6.1, and O'Hara averaged 4.0 points per game.
Caden Wilkins and
Brady Fitzgerald are the other two returners to the Phoenix squad.
