WEEK IN REVIEW

VOLLEYBALL
Green Bay added four newcomers for the 2025 season. Kayla Birmingham, Layla Christian, Alexis Gardner, and Alexa Hernandez all committed to the Phoenix as part of the 2025 recruiting class.

The Phoenix also announced the 2025 spring schedule on Wednesday afternoon. Check it out here! SWIM AND DIVE

The Phoenix saw plenty more lifetime bests recorded during the men's events. Owen Mehring had a career time in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles, as well as the 100-yard breaststroke. Cowan Vitense had personal bests in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle. Adlai Ferguson tallied personal bests in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke, as well as the 50-yard freestyle. Nolan Schultz had lifetime bests in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyles.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
GB fell to Purdue Fort Wayne on the road in its lone game of the week. The Phoenix had three players score in double figures, led by Jeremiah Johnson, who had 20 points and seven rebounds. Marcus Hall added 13 points, and Ben Tweedy had a big day off the bench, finishing with 11 points and a career-high eight rebounds off the bench. Purdue Fort Wayne kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing an 82-61 advantage. Green Bay went on a 9-0 run, finished off by a Johnson's three, to shrink the deficit to 82-70 with 3:04 to go in the contest. That was as close as GB got, however, with PFW securing the 89-74 victory.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The win streak extended to 14 for the Green Bay women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon. GB defeated Robert Morris 71-39 in front of nearly 2,000 strong at the Kress Center.  After a strong second quarter, the Green and White kept piling on after halftime, as a Schreiber layup ballooned the lead to 61-24 by the end of the third quarter. GB held RMU to just six points in the third period, three of which came via the charity stripe. The Phoenix led by at least 32 for the entire fourth quarter, which ended up being the difference on the scoreboard in the 71-39 win over Robert Morris.
Last Thursday, Green Bay locked in a home quarterfinal game on March 6 as part of the 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Championships. A 58-47 win over Youngstown State on Thursday night secured a top-four spot and a first-round bye in the conference tournament. A LOOK AHEAD
