ABOUT THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland is in the middle of the road in the Horizon League standings, currently in a three-way tie for fourth place with Northern Kentucky and Detroit Mercy. Deanna Richard, Interim Head Coach for the Golden Grizzlies, has Oakland in position for a potential first-round bye. Maddy Skorupski is another huge reason Oakland is in that position, leading the Golden Grizzlies in points (16.8 PPG), assists (3.1 APG), steals (3.1 SPG), and minutes (35.3 MPG). Oakland has had a challenging season on both ends of the floor, scoring just 61.3 points per game as a team (ranks nine out of 11 in the Horizon League), while surrendering shy of 73 points per contest (tied for worst in the HL).

The Phoenix is 18-6 versus Oakland all-time, winning the last two meetings. Green Bay has lost just twice to Oakland in the past 10 matchups. GB is 9-4 when visiting the Golden Grizzlies, winning six of the last eight meetings on the Blacktop. In the most recent matchup, Green Bay walloped Oakland 69-39 behind a game-high 22 points from Callie Genke, the second-most of her career. Natalie McNeal added 18 more, while Dani Grim paced the Golden Grizzlies with 15 points. 1. THE HUNT FOR MARCH
The Phoenix recently clinched a top-four seed, a first-round bye, and a home quarterfinal game in the 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Championships. Green Bay will play an opponent TBD in the quarterfinal on March 6, following the first-round slate of games on March 4. With two wins this weekend, and two Cleveland State losses, GB can clinch at least the two seed this weekend. Cleveland State plays Wednesday night at Northern Kentucky (who is currently in a three-way tie for 4th-place) and at Purdue Fort Wayne (current No. 1 seed) on Saturday afternoon.

2. 1,000 TIMES 2
Maddy Schreiber and Natalie McNeal are nearing more career accolades. McNeal, who eclipsed 1,000 total career points earlier this season, is just 23 points from achieving 1,000 points specifically as a Phoenix. Schreiber, who attended Kimberly High School about an hour south of UWGB, is 35 points away from the same feat.

3. NET IN THE NATION

4. GENKE HAS BEEN GREAT
Callie Genke is 11th in the country in three-point percentage (45.3). She has led the team in scoring three times this season, most recently against Oakland on January 18 when she scored a season-best 22 points. Callie has nearly as many rebounds (253) as she does made field goals (250) in her career. She currently has a career-high in:
  • Field goal percentage (49.1 percent; 4.8 percent above the next highest).
  • Three-point percentage (43.5; 7.2 percent above the next highest).
  • Free-throw percentage (82.35, nearly five percent above the next highest).
  • Points per game (9.35).
5. WE THE BEST (IN THE STATE)
Among the four Division I women's basketball programs in the state of Wisconsin, Green Bay women's basketball boasts by far the best record since the start of the century.

Record since 2000-01 season; win percentage
1. Green Bay (1,134-396; 74.1)
2. Marquette (819-631; 56.5)
