ROCHESTER, Mich. – The 2024-25 season has come to an end for the Green Bay men's basketball team, as the Phoenix fell to Oakland in the Barbasol Horizon League Championship First Round, 96-72.
The Phoenix had three players score in double figures, led by Jeremiah Johnson, who had 21 points and nine rebounds. C.J. O'Hara added a career-high 15 points and six rebounds from the bench and Marcus Hall chipped in with 11 points.
Oakland had everything going offensively, finishing the game shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three. Four Golden Grizzlies scored in double figures, led by 15 points and 11 rebounds from Allen Mukeba. Isaiah Jones also had 15.
The GB offense didn't fare as well, finishing the night shooting 39.1 percent from the floor and 26.9 percent from three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Oakland never trailed Tuesday night, jumping out to a 14-7 lead after a Malcom Christie three with 15:54 in the first half. GB cut it to 23-17 after a Marcus Hall three pointer, but the hosts responded and extended their lead to 47-34 by the time halftime came around.
Another Hall three pointer cut the Oakland lead to 10 right out of halftime. However, that was as close as the Phoenix would get, with Oakland eventually extending its lead to 20 after a Jayson Woodrich and-one. The Golden Grizzlies used that lead and cruised to the 96-72 win.

» Jeremiah Johnson scored 20+ points for the second time in three games.
» Oakland's bench was key, outscoring GB's 36-23.
» The rebounding battle was close, with Oakland outrebounding the Phoenix 42-41.
