Women's Basketball Signs Maddy Skorupski

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay women's basketball team and head coach Kayla Karius announced the addition of Maddy Skorupski. Skorupski, a Clarkston, Mich. native, played at Oakland for the past two seasons.

Skorupski is coming off of a great Junior season for the Golden Grizzlies, being named All-Horizon League Second Team at the conclusion of the season. She is the only First, Second, or Third Teamer returning to a Horizon League school for the 2025-26 season. In Horizon League games, the 5'8" guard averaged 16.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.8 steals per game. Skorupski scored 38 points against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 1, 2025, which is tied for the most points in a single Horizon League game since the 2012-13 season.

"We are excited to welcome Maddy to Green Bay", said Karius. "She has an impressive skillset as a scoring guard in our league. Though we've known her as an opponent, we believe she's a great fit for the Green Bay culture and our program. Welcome to Green Bay, Maddy and the Skorupski family!"

Skorupski's scoring was on display all season long for the Golden Grizzlies, scoring in double figures 22 times. She also scored 20+ points 10 times. Prior to the past two years at Oakland, the Clarkston native spent her freshman season at Michigan State, where she appeared in five games.

"I am very excited to be joining the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay this upcoming season," Skorupski added. "Green Bay's high standard of success on and off the court is something I am determined to uphold. I look forward to being a part of such a historic program and to positively represent the women who have worn the jersey before me. Go Phoenix!"

During her senior season at Clarkston High School, Skorupski averaged 26.6 points a game to go along with 5.9 rebounds and 4.2 steals. For her efforts, she was given Associated Press First-Team All-State honors.
