LEXINGTON, Ky. – Tuesday afternoon, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced groups of recipients—College, High School, and Club—of its 2025 Thirty Under 30 Awards. Among the recipients was Green Bay assistant volleyball coach Jim Dwyer.

"I'm very grateful to be recognized in the 2025 Thirty under 30 Class," said Dwyer. "There are a lot of incredible coaches who have been named to this list in the past and I am honored to be a part of this group. I'm also very grateful to Green Bay Volleyball and the experiences that I've been a part of here to help me be recognized for this award!" 

Dwyer joined the Phoenix prior to the 2024 season, where the Phoenix made its second-consecutive Horizon League Championship appearance. He helped guide Green Bay to a 16-17 overall record and an 11-7 HL record for a fourth-place regular season finish. Dwyer joined the Phoenix after a successful season as the head men's volleyball coach at Georgetown College. The Tigers finished the season 28-6, en route to a Mid-South Conference Championships and NAIA National Championship Appearance. Dwyer was named the MSC Coach of the Year for his efforts.

"Congratulations to Jim! Our players and staff are so proud of him, and we are grateful that he's a Phoenix," Sutherland added. "Jim brought a wealth of knowledge to our program and helped us elevate in a ton of ways. What's even more special is that Jim is committed to our team's mission and values on and off the court. As a head coach, I'm thankful to get to work with him daily. He is loyal, he challenges me, and I trust him completely."

The Thirty Under 30 program recognizes up-and-coming coaches in different sectors of the sport who serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director. Each of this year's recipients had to be age 30 or under as of Dec. 31, 2024, to qualify for the award.
 
AVCA College Awards
This year's list of Thirty Under 30 College Award recipients includes women's and men's indoor and beach coaches. These honorees work hard and are passionate about teaching, helping players reach their full potential, and growing the game at the collegiate level.
