GREEN BAY, Wis. – This past weekend, Green Bay volleyball player
Kendall Schara was diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Schara is receiving treatment now, and will be in the hospital for at least the next five weeks.
"Kendall has made a huge impact on Green Bay Volleyball and our surrounding community," said Green Bay Volleyball Head Coach
Abbey Sutherland. "She LOVES sports and is a loyal Cubs and Bears fan. She is the hardest working player in the weight room and she always pushes her teammates to challenge themselves. She is a talented, all-around player who loves to compete. There are countless reasons as to why she is a captain of the squad. Kendall is honest and real. Her honest statements come off as humorous because her words are so blatantly true. She is smart—she's an exceptional student with plans of becoming a physical therapist. She's also vice-president of the GBVB Wednesday Night Movie Club."
If you'd like to help Kendall and her family in her fight against cancer, consider donating to this
GoFundMe. All funds raised will go directly toward Kendall's medical expenses, travel and lodging for treatments, supportive care services, and daily living costs as her family focuses on her recovery.
"Kendall, we love you and believe in you," Sutherland continued. "You are special and you are strong. Our athletic department and team will support you every step of the way."
