ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced yesterday that the Green Bay women's basketball program grabbed the top spot on the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. This is the 30th season in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. It is the fifth time the Phoenix have earned the top spot.
The WBCA recognizes women's basketball teams from the Division I, II, III, and NAIA levels across the nation that boast the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their roster for the duration of the season. Green Bay finished first in the Division I category with a 3.862 GPA.
Green Bay has now placed on the Honor Roll for 11 straight seasons.
"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 119 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"
