GREEN BAY, Wis. – It was Senior Day out at Aldo Santaga Stadium Thursday afternoon, as the Green Bay women's soccer team fell to Indiana State 2-0. Prior to the game, the Phoenix honored
Amely Molina,
Audrey Cassata,
Lilly Lambird, and
Hanna Arvay for their contributions to the program.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay had much more of the ball in the first half but was unable to break the deadlock. The Phoenix finished the frame with seven shots (three on goal) while not allowing the Sycamores a shot.
Indiana State ramped up the pressure in the second half, breaking the tie in the game's 63rd minute. After a nice passing sequence on the right side of the field, Isabella Berta found Alex Lehnert, who slotted it past the Phoenix keeper to make it 1-0. Indiana State then doubled its lead 20 minutes later, when Lehnert once again found herself in a one-on-one with the GB keeper, and made it 2-0.
