GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Women's Soccer team got its first win of the season, and first win of the Matt Kagan era, Thursday night over Western Illinois, 5-0.
Ryann Hafenbrak led the way for the Phoenix, securing herself a brace.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay got off to a hot start, with the first Phoenix goal scorching off the head of Kendall Jackson to put GB up 1-0 in just the ninth minute. Things only got better for the Phoenix as Ryann Hafenbrak scored off assists by Grace Downey and Bella Brozek in the 28th minute. With less than two minutes left in the first half, Brozek scored a goal herself to put the Phoenix in front 3-0 before halftime.
An unassisted goal by Aixa Helbringer-Escobar and a second goal of the night for Hafenbrak put the game well out of reach for the Leathernecks as Green Bay rolled to a 5-0 win.

- Thursday was the largest victory at home for GB since a 7-0 win over Chicago State on Sept. 11, 2015.
