Following, the Phoenix will head to Pennsylvania to seek a win against the defending Horizon League Champion Robert Morris Colonials on Saturday at 1 p.m. CST.

ABOUT YOUNGSTOWN STATE
The Penguins are led by second-year head coach Ethan Faulkner, who served as an assistant for five seasons at YSU before being elevated to Head Coach in 2024. Youngstown is led by Cris Carrol, who averages 16.7 points per game, fourth-most in the Horizon League. Carroll also leads YSU with 5.0 rebounds and 28.0 minutes per game. Carroll has scored double-figures in 19 of his 20 starts for the Penguins, including a season-high 31 points at Robert Morris on Dec. 17. Another key contributor is senior Bryson Dawkins, who averages 11.6 points per game and has scored at least 14 points in each of his last three games.
ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS
The Colonials are coached by 16
th-year Head Coach Andrew Toole, who led the Colonials to their first Horizon League Tournament Championship last season. His Colonials enter Thursday's game against Milwaukee 4-5 in HL play, eighth in the standings. Three players contribute double-figure scoring averages for RMU, led by DeSean Goode's 15.1 points per game, simultaneously averaging a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game. Goode shoots 63.5-percent from the floor and 62.1-percent from three. Ryan Prather Jr. is close behind with 14.4 points per game, while Nikolaos Chitikoudis chips in 11.2 points per game while pulling down an additional 7.1 boards for the Colonials.
LAST TIME OUT
The Green Bay men's basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped, falling to Oakland 88-63 Sunday afternoon at the Kress Center.
Ramel Bethea led the Phoenix (11-9, 6-3) with 11 points and four blocks.
Marcus Hall tacked on nine points and four assists, and
Preston Ruedinger helped out with six points and eight assists. Oakland (11-9, 7-2) was led by Tuburu Naivalurua, who had a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Garrett also secured a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
PROTECT HOME COURT
Green Bay has had early success at home during the 2025-26 season, sitting at 6-2. Green Bay is also 2-1 in neutral-site contests. Green Bay is 3-6 on the road in 2025-26.
PHOENIX RISING
Green Bay sits at a record of 11-9 through 20 games. Last year at the same point, GB was 2-18. It took just nine games for the 2025-26 Phoenix to match the win total of the 2024-25 Phoenix. GB has already exceeded its Horizon League win total from a year ago quickly, having finished 2-18 in league play last year. The Phoenix is 6-3 through nine Horizon League games.
MONEY MARCUS
Phoenix forward
Marcus Hall is picking up where he left off last season. Through 17 games, Hall is averaging team-highs with 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 33.9 minutes per game. Hall was named to the Horizon League Preseason First Team on October 8. He has scored in double figures in 11 of his 17 games this season.
O'MAZING O'HARA
C.J. O'Hara is in his second season at Green Bay and has started in all 20 games so far this season. O'Hara is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.7 points, second on the team in rebounds at 4.5, and third on the team at 30.6 minutes per game. O'Hara has scored in double figures in 15 of his 20 starts.
PASSING PRESTON
Phoenix point guard
Preston Ruedinger is one of the best passers in the Horizon League, sitting in third in the league at 5.2 assists per game. Ruedinger has started all 20 games so far and plays the second-most minutes per game on the team at 33.7. Ruedinger made history with a career-high 13 assists vs UCSB on Dec. 17, the seventh-most in a game in program history.
JUSTIN CREDIBLE
Senior guard
Justin Allen is in one of his best stretches of the season. Allen scored 21 against Purdue Fort Wayne and Milwaukee before pouring in 27 against Northern Kentucky on Jan. 11. Allen has scored 20+ points six times this season, including three out of the last six games.
YEAR TWO
Heading into the 2025-26 season,
Doug Gottlieb enters his second year as the head coach of Green Bay men's basketball. Gottlieb, well-known for his broadcasting career, brings with him a wealth of experience as a player, commentator, analyst, and coach in the basketball world. Coach Gottlieb announced on Dec. 17, after GB's win over UCSB, that he will be taking a break from hosting The Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio to focus on Phoenix basketball.
INTERNATIONAL TALENT
The 2025-26 Phoenix roster features players from two different foreign countries and 11 from different U.S. states.
Maruan Cicic is from Montenegro, and
Vukasin Todorovic is from Slovenia.
NEW ERA SAME RISE
After a season with 12 newcomers a season ago, the 2025-26 Green Bay roster will bring in 10 newcomers this year. Of GB's rostered players, six are returners, six are transfers, and four are true freshmen.
FAMILIAR FACES
Multiple returners will play large roles in the upcoming 2025-26 season, including
Marcus Hall,
Preston Ruedinger,
Mac Wrecke, and
C.J. O'Hara. Last season, Hall averaged 13.9, Ruedinger averaged 8.0, Wrecke averaged 6.1, and O'Hara averaged 4.0 points per game.
Caden Wilkins and
Brady Fitzgerald are the other two returners to the Phoenix squad.
