GREEN BAY, Wis. – Under the guidance of the Assistant AD for Academic Services, Mike Kline, GB student-athletes have finished with a 3.3 or better GPA for the past 22 semesters. Kline, the longest-tenured member in the Green Bay Athletics department, has overseen the rise and continued academic excellence of the Green Bay student-athlete body.

The Fall 2025 GPA is the best yet for Green Bay student-athletes, with the Phoenix recording a 3.62 GPA, the best in the history of the athletic department. Green Bay student-athletes who finished with a semester GPA above 3.25 will be honored at halftime of the Phoenix Women's Basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 29.

"Coach Kline is the foundation of our athletic department, showing an unwavering commitment to the success of our student-athletes," said Senior Associate AD for Compliance & Student-Athlete Excellence / SWA Kassie Wagner. "His care for their academic and personal development is clear in every aspect of his work. A vital part of our institution's history of academic excellence, Coach Kline has inspired both staff and student-athletes to strive for the highest standards. Our success would not be possible without his leadership."

As a whole, Phoenix student-athletes attained a semester GPA of 3.62, with eight of GB's 14 varsity programs boasting a 3.70 or higher GPA. Each of the 14 programs achieved at least a 3.25 GPA.

Over 90.7 percent of Green Bay student-athletes recorded at least a 3.0 GPA, while 36.4 percent tallied a 4.0 GPA. Women's Basketball led the way as a team with a 3.95 GPA, while Men's Golf led the men at a 3.74 GPA.
