Jahnke Runner Up At Notre Dame - Men Finish 8th, Women 22nd

Notre Dame, Ind. – The men's and women's cross country teams competed in one of their biggest meets of the season in the Joe Paine Invite hosted by Notre Dame.  The men's team finished eighth behind a strong second place finish by Noah Jahnke.  The women placed 22nd in their race as a team.

Men's Recap –
The men raced in the Joe Paine 8k Gold Race.  Noah Jahnke bested his time from last year's Joe Paine Invite by seven seconds but this year it wasn't enough for the win.  The senior from Green Bay settled for a second-place finish with an 8k time of 23:51.6.  Mason Gates had his best ever 8k time with a 24:12.2 race placing in sixth.  The men placed eighth as a team with a score of 220, ahead of Horizon League foes, Oakland, Milwaukee, and Purdue Fort Wayne. Tiffen University won the Gold race with 120 points
 
Women's Recap –
Madison Lotten knocked off 21 seconds from her time last year at the Joe Paine Invite to set a new 5K PR at 18:44.04.  The sophomore from Kimberly was the top finisher for the Phoenix in 96th.  Norah Froslee and Lia Peterson were the next two in for Green Bay.  Froslee with a time of 18:58.17 and Peterson with 5K PR of 18:59.04.  The women placed 22nd with a score of 550, ahead of Milwaukee and Cleveland State. Toledo won the women's 5K Gold Race with 71 points.
