Women's Soccer Earns Seven #HLWSOC All-League Nods

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced its 2026 women's soccer All-League awards on Friday afternoon, and multiple Green Bay players collected honors.

After finishing second in the league standings, Phoenix players earned seven spots on the All-League teams. Jess Howard, Laney Stark, and Rebecca Stoeckmann earned First Team honors; Alyssa Flood was named Second Team, and Bella Brozek, Aixa Helbringer-Escobar, and Anna Scott were named Third Team. Stoeckmann was also a finalist for the Horizon League Sportsmanship Award.

Green Bay's defense was the stoutest in the Horizon League this season by a wide margin, thanks in large part to Howard, Flood, and Scott. The Phoenix defense had a league-best 10 shutouts and allowed just 0.61 goals per game, almost half of what the second-best defense in the league posted (Northern Kentucky, 1.17). Howard, who got the First Team, played a big part in leading the defense from the Center Back position, starting and playing all 90 minutes in 17 of 18 matches. Flood started and played in all 18 matches and has also played the most minutes of any Phoenix player this season at 1,611. Scott, meanwhile, led the league's keepers in goals against average (0.59) and shutouts, as previously mentioned.

The Phoenix midfield was another key piece to the team's success, highlighted by Stoeckmann's two-way presence in the middle of the park. Despite playing from the midfield, Stoeckmann was second on the Phoenix with four goals scored this year, and was one of 10 players in the league with two or more game-winning goals. Helbringer-Escobar was also a steadying veteran presence, leading the team with five assists on the season, tied for fourth-most in the Horizon League.

Last but not least, Laney Stark and Bella Brozek represented the Green Bay offense in the All-League Awards. Stark led the Phoenix with eight goals scored this season, which is tied for third-most in the league. Her five game-winning goals were also the second-most in the league. Brozek, on the other hand, scored three goals while also dishing out three assists for the GB offense.

The awards come after one of the best seasons in Green Bay women's soccer history, with the team racking up 12 wins. The Phoenix has done that just three times in program history and is the first time since 1993.

GB is the league's No. 2 seed and will await the results of the Horizon League Quarterfinals this Saturday to determine their next matchup. The Phoenix will host the highest-remaining seed in the Horizon League Semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
