Phoenix Hosts PFW Thursday Before Heading to Milwaukee Sunday

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay men's basketball team hosts Purdue Fort Wayne tomorrow night at the Kress Center at 6 p.m. CST. The game will be aired on ESPN2. Following Thursday's game, the Phoenix will travel to Milwaukee to take on the Panthers Sunday at 2 p.m. CST at UWM Panther Arena.

ABOUT PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Jon Coffman is in his 12th season as Head Coach at Purdue Fort Wayne. The Mastodons are 14-11 overall and 8-6 in the Horizon League this season. Corey Hadnot II leads the league and Mastodons in scoring, averaging 20.0 points per game. Makale Stevenson is second on the team in scoring at 15.0 points per game, while also being the assists leader at 3.3 per game. DeAndre Craig is also a key contributor, averaging 14.4 points and 2.8 assists per game for the Dons.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS
Milwaukee is led by fourth-year head coach Bart Lundy, who has led the Panthers to 20-win seasons in each of his first three years with the program. Milwaukee has battled injuries and currently sits at 10-17 overall and 6-10 in the Horizon League. The Panthers enter Sunday off a 92-88 win on the road at IU Indy last night. Seth Hubbard leads Milwaukee in scoring, but he hasn't appeared in a game since Dec. 6, 2025. Two other double-digit scorers are Amar Augillard, who averages 13.1 points, and Danilo Jovanovich, who averages 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Jovanovich hasn't appeared in a game since Jan. 9, 2026.

NATIONAL TV
The last time the Phoenix played a nationally televised game at home was January 31, 2020, against NKU. The Phoenix fell to the Norse 71-62.

POSTSEASON PICTURE
Through 15 Horizon League games, the Phoenix sits at 9-6 in league play, third in the standings behind Wright State and Oakland. Green Bay will look to lock up a top-5 seed by season's end, which would secure a Horizon League First Round game hosted in Green Bay.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green Bay men's basketball team defeated Detroit Mercy 76-63 Saturday afternoon at the Resch Center. The Phoenix had five players score in double figures, led by C.J. O'Hara, who had 17 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Caden Wilkins added 14 points, and Marcus Hall chipped in as well with 13 points and two steals. LeBron Thomas had 11 points, and Preston Ruedinger added 10 points to round out the five double-figure scorers for the Phoenix. Green Bay pulled down 39 rebounds in Saturday's game compared to Detroit Mercy's 33, led by O'Hara's seven boards. The Phoenix also cleaned up the offensive glass, turning 13 rebounds into 15 second-chance points.

PROTECT HOME COURT
Green Bay has had early success at home during the 2025-26 season, sitting at 7-4. Green Bay is also 2-1 in neutral-site contests. Green Bay is 5-7 on the road in 2025-26.

PHOENIX RISING
Green Bay sits at a record of 14-12 through 26 games. Last year at the same point, GB was 2-24. It took just nine games for the 2025-26 Phoenix to match the win total of the 2024-25 Phoenix. GB has already exceeded its Horizon League win total from a year ago quickly, having finished 2-18 in league play last year. The Phoenix is 9-6 through 15 Horizon League games.

MONEY MARCUS
Phoenix forward Marcus Hall is picking up where he left off last season. Through 23 games, Hall is averaging 13.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 34.8 minutes per game. Hall was named to the Horizon League Preseason First Team on October 8. He has scored in double figures in 16 of 23 games this season, most recently featuring a 13-point outing vs Detroit mercy on Saturday.

O'MAZING O'HARA
C.J. O'Hara is in his second season at Green Bay and has started in all 26 games so far this season. O'Hara is leading the team in scoring, averaging 14.1 points, second on the team in rebounds at 4.6, and third on the team at 31.8 minutes per game. O'Hara has scored in double figures in 21 of his 26 starts, including a new career-high 23 points last Wednesday at NKU.

PASSING PRESTON
Phoenix point guard Preston Ruedinger called his own number and delivered a buzzer-beating three pointer to defeat NKU in overtime on Wednesday, 87-84. Ruedinger is one of the best passers in the Horizon League, sitting third in the league at 5.3 assists per game. Ruedinger has started all 26 games so far and plays the second-most minutes per game on the team at 34.7. Ruedinger made history with a career-high 13 assists vs UCSB on Dec. 17, the seventh-most in a game in program history.
JUSTIN CREDIBLE
Senior guard Justin Allen is a talented scorer, scoring 20+ points six times this season. Three of those six games came in January. He has scored double figures in seven out of the last 12, and is third on the team, averaging 12.1 points per game.

YEAR TWO
Heading into the 2025-26 season, Doug Gottlieb enters his second year as the head coach of Green Bay men's basketball. Gottlieb, well-known for his broadcasting career, brings with him a wealth of experience as a player, commentator, analyst, and coach in the basketball world. Coach Gottlieb announced on Dec. 17, after GB's win over UCSB, that he will be taking a break from hosting The Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio to focus on Phoenix basketball.

INTERNATIONAL TALENT
The 2025-26 Phoenix roster features players from two different foreign countries and 11 from different U.S. states. Maruan Cicic is from Montenegro, and Vukasin Todorovic is from Slovenia.

NEW ERA SAME RISE
After a season with 12 newcomers a season ago, the 2025-26 Green Bay roster will bring in 10 newcomers this year. Of GB's rostered players, six are returners, six are transfers, and four are true freshmen.

FAMILIAR FACES
Multiple returners will play large roles in the upcoming 2025-26 season, including Marcus HallPreston RuedingerMac Wrecke, and C.J. O'Hara. Last season, Hall averaged 13.9, Ruedinger averaged 8.0, Wrecke averaged 6.1, and O'Hara averaged 4.0 points per game. Caden Wilkins and Brady Fitzgerald are the other two returners to the Phoenix squad.
