After intermission, Green Bay rallied to tie it up at 32-32 before going on an 8-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Peppler, to grab a 40-32 lead with 6:26 to go in the third. Before the conclusion of the third period, the Mastodons had cut into that lead somewhat, but the Phoenix still entered the fourth with a 47-42 edge. Green Bay played well near the basket, scoring 14 of its 19 points in the paint.
