Green Bay Adds Elisa Mevius to 2026-27 Roster

GREEN BAY, Wis. – On Wednesday, the Green Bay women's basketball team and head coach Kayla Karius announced the addition of Elisa Mevius. The Rendsburg, Germany, native will become the first international talent for the Phoenix since Patricia Gallasová of the Czech Republic in the 2020-21 season. Mevius played two seasons with the Siena Saints before transferring to the Oregon Ducks for the previous two seasons.

The 5'10" guard played two games in 2025-26 before suffering a season-ending knee injury, which granted her an extra year of NCAA eligibility. In those two games, Mevius averaged 12.5 points and 3.5 assists to go with shooting 57.9 percent from the floor.

"We are so excited to welcome Elisa to our program," Karius said. "She's a dynamic playmaker who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Her ability to score, create for others, and defend at a high level, combined with her experience and leadership, will make an immediate impact on our team. We can't wait to get her to Green Bay!"

In her first collegiate season with the Saints, Mevius was named the MAAC Freshman of the Year, as well as being named to the All-Freshman and All-League Third Team. During that rookie campaign, the guard appeared in all 32 games, starting 31 of them, and averaged 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. Her season-high 26-point performance on Feb. 11, 2023, was capped by her 55-foot game-winning buzzer beater to defeat conference rival Niagara 83-81.
Mevius was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year during her sophomore season at Siena, while also receiving All-League First-Team honors, averaging 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and her 4.5 steals per game, which were second-most in the country. Her 135 steals that season are a Siena program record.

In her junior season with Oregon, she played in 28 games, starting in 19 of them, and averaged 6.6 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. Despite missing the final four games of the Ducks' season due to a broken hand, Elisa Mevius led the team with 1.6 steals per game. Mevius produced six games in double figures, including a season-high 19 points at Minnesota on Feb. 16 behind 7-of-8 shooting and 4-of-5 from deep range.

"I am super excited to get to Green Bay and get to work with the team and coaches," Mevius added. "I feel like the culture and environment is a place where you can truly thrive and be yourself on and off the court."

On top of her collegiate success, Mevius won the gold medal representing Germany in the Women's 3x3 Basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. She also helped Team Germany to a second-place finish at the U17 Euro Cup, a fourth-place finish at the U18 FIBA World Cup and a fourth-place finish at the U21 Nations League.
