Green Bay Continues Unbeaten Streak with Win Over Chicago State

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's soccer team moved to 5-0-2 on the season with a 3-0 shutout victory Thursday night over Chicago State at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The home win improved Green Bay to 2-0-2 on the season.

"Tonight we asserted ourselves especially in the second half and created a lot of chances," said head coach Matt Kagan. "We had a lot of players get in the game tonight, and I am very proud of the team and their commitment to finish out the non-conference schedule strong."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay scored first early when Jess Howard intercepted a Cougars pass and created her own fast break, dribbling past Chicago State defenders before beating the keeper in the 14th minute. The Phoenix extended that lead to 2-0 when Allison Raasch played a ball to the top of the box to Bella Brozek, who slotted it into the upper right-hand corner of the goal to put the Phoenix up two goals to none at the break.

Green Bay expanded the lead early in the second half to 3-0 when Brozek intercepted a Cougars pass and on the fast break connected with Claire Paschke in front of goal, who took her chance and scored her first goal of the season. Green Bay kept the pressure on late, but solid goalkeeping from Kamila Aguilar kept the score 3-0.
