Alexa Frank is in her first season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Green Bay volleyball program in 2017. Frank joins the Phoenix after spending two years at NCAA Division III power UW-Whitewater, where she helped lead the Warhawks to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons and to the round of 16 in 2016.
"I am very excited to announce the addition of Alexa Frank as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator to our staff. Having worked with Alexa at the Badger Region High Performance Camp this summer and then seeing her coach at the USA HP Championships I know she will bring instant recruiting success to our program. She has done a tremendous job while at UW-Whitewater both on the court working with setters and defenders as well as being their recruiting coordinator. I am excited to continue the growth of our program with Alexa at the helm of our recruiting efforts," Burdette said.Â
Frank’s efforts helped lead UW-Whitewater to the WIAC regular season championship in 2016 and the WIAC tournament title in both 2015 and 2016. The team earned the No. 1 ranking in the NCAA Midwest Region in both of those years and went undefeated at home (32-0) in those two seasons as well.
"First, I would like to thank Head Coach, Sean Burdette, and the rest of the search committee for this opportunity. I am honored and excited to be a part of the Phoenix family and I look forward to this season and all that this team is able to accomplish," Frank said.
Working as the recruiting coordinator, along with serving as the setting and defense coach, Frank helped develop an AVCA All-American setter and an AVCA All-America libero. She also assisted the University and program in hosting a pair of NCAA Regionals in both 2015 and 2016.
A graduate of Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, Frank was a standout student-athlete during her time there, earning All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and capturing the conference championship in three seasons. She was a four-year starter at the setter position and served as team captain, helping lead her team to the NCAA Tournament in three of her four years.
Frank also spent time as the head coach of the Black Swamp Volleyball Club in Ohio and earned her Master’s from UW-Whitewater this past May. She will join Burdette in 2017 as the team prepares for another exciting season.
