Shannon Coughlin joined the Green Bay volleyball staff as an Assistant Coach on June 27, 2024, returning to the program where she competed as a student-athlete from 2018–22.

Following her playing career at Green Bay, Coughlin gained professional experience overseas, competing with Lemesos Volleyball in Limassol, Cyprus, and Quimper Volley 29 in Quimper, France. During her five seasons in Titletown, she recorded over 900 kills, 240 digs, and 140 blocks, while serving as a team captain from 2020–22. She was a six-time Horizon League Academic Honor Roll selection and a member of the 2018 Horizon League regular season and tournament championship team.

In addition to her playing and coaching experience, Coughlin has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development and leadership early in her career. In 2025, she was selected as a Class #54 graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy and was named a Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship recipient for the AVCA Convention. From 2020–22, she also served as the Lead Camp Director for Green Bay Volleyball Camps while completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees, and she spent time as an assistant coach at Lawrence University in May 2024.

Coughlin earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Green Bay in 2021 and completed her master’s degree in Applied Leadership in 2022. A native of Oregon, Ohio, she is a 2018 graduate of Clay High School.
