The Green Bay men's basketball team and head coach Doug Gottlieb announced the return of Colin Schneider to Green Bay as an assistant coach for the Phoenix on May 8, 2026.

Schneider rejoins the Phoenix program after seven seasons with SIUE, serving as the Associate Head Coach of the Cougars under Brian Barone for the past three seasons. The Cougars have tallied four consecutive winning seasons from 2022-23 to 2025-26, most notably in 2024-25, when they won the OVC Tournament championship & reached the NCAA Tournament with a 22-12 record. Schneider helped guide SIUE to its first winning season in DI in 2022-23, and DI NCAA Tournament berth since the program elevated to Division I in 2008.

Colin Schneider served as the Director of Basketball Operations in his first two seasons with SIUE from 2019 to 2021 before being promoted to an Assistant Coach in July 2021. Schneider served in that role before he was  promoted to Associate Head Coach in August 2023.  In that time, the Cougars have had three straight winning seasons, with an overall record of 58-41, and 34-24 in the OVC.

Schneider also brings NBA experience to the Green Bay coaching staff, serving as the Head Video Coordinator of the Sacramento Kings for three seasons prior to joining SIUE. He was also an assistant coach for the Kings' summer league entry. Prior to his time in Sacramento, he was the Assistant Video Coordinator for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Prior to his time in the NBA, Colin Schneider was the Director of Basketball Operations for Green Bay for three seasons under head coach Brian Wardle, aiding the program's budget, travel, student-workers, film exchange, on-campus recruiting, scouting reports, practice planning, and video editing.

A New Holstein, Wisconsin, native, Schneider earned his degree in Urban and Regional Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 2010, before earning his Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University-Irvine in 2013.
