Ryan Thieme was added as an Assistant Coach for the Green Bay Nordic Ski team in the fall of 2026. Thieme was a Phoenix skier himself, having graduated in 2024.
In his new role, Thieme will take video and lead technique review sessions, support the team’s exercise physiology testing regime, and test and prepare skis on race days. He will develop training plans, work with athletes to review their training data, and provide general student-athlete support.Â
Thieme was a member of the Phoenix Nordic ski team from his freshman year in 2020-21 before graduating in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in human biology. He’s since served as a Research Technician at UWGB since March and has served as an administrative director for the Wisconsin Nordic Ski League since 2025.
As a skier at Green Bay, Thieme’s best finish came in the 7.5k skate at Ariens Nordic CCSA Invite in his senior season, where he finished eighth, his first career CCSA top ten. Thieme also posted a time of 17:07.9 in the 7.5k Skate at the NCAA Central Region Championships to earn Second-Team All-Region.
Ryan Thieme is a Titletown native, and a graduate of Bay Port High School.
