GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's soccer team (4-8-2, 2-2-1 Horizon League) cruised to a 5-1 victory over Cleveland State (2-11-1, 1-3-1 Horizon League) Sunday afternoon at Santaga Stadium. With the win, the Phoenix remains unbeaten at home this season (3-0-1).

Green Bay was led by a pair of freshman on the day, as Devahn Godfrey (Maplewood, Minn.) found the back of the net three times to record the tenth hat trick in school history and the first since 2006 (Jennie Gorwitz). Classmate Nicole Dooher (New Hope, Minn.) tallied a pair of goals on the afternoon and also added an assist.

"We improved drastically today in terms of getting the ball in the net," Green Bay head coach Trevor Warren said. "We created a lot of good chances and probably could have had a few more goals."

The Phoenix jumped out to an early lead when Dooher struck the back of the net from close range on the left side after a nice pass from freshman Molly Haertle (Oconomowoc, Wis.) in the 16th minute.

Green Bay pushed its lead to 2-0 in the 19th minute when Godfrey scored on a header following a well-placed corner kick from Mikayla Clark (Eden Prairie, Minn.). Godfrey then gave the Phoenix a three-goal advantage in the 25th minute with a header from the left side after a long cross from Dooher.

After trailing 3-0 at halftime, the Vikings got on the board in the second period when junior Allie Riczo scored her first goal of the season following a corner kick from Marley Grenier in the 69th minute. The Phoenix responded quickly, however, as Godfrey headed in her third goal of the afternoon less than three minutes later on a feed from sophomore midfielder Corey Arno.

Dooher then added the fifth and final goal of the day in the 78th minute when she hammered home a rebound following a save from point-blank range.

The Phoenix dominated the contest in terms of shots, holding a 24-7 advantage. Dooher led the team with six shots and three shots on goal.

Green Bay caps off its three-match home stand next Friday when it hosts Wright State at 7 p.m. at Santaga Stadium.
