GREEN BAY, Wis. - New
Green Bay men's basketball head coach Brian Wardle is a man of his word. In his
introductory press conference on April 15, Wardle promised he would be seen out in
the community shaking hands and promoting Green Bay men's basketball.
He has done exactly that making over 20 public appearances shaking
hands and encouraging fans to support him and his team while starting a new
chapter in Green Bay men's basketball.
"One of my favorite parts of the
job is going out into the community and meeting people. Any opportunity I
have to go out and talk about our program is valuable," said Wardle.
As the second youngest coach in Division I Wardle rarely
turns down the opportunity to talk about his team and plans for the upcoming
season. Wardle is featured in the July issue of Inside Wisconsin Sports talking
about his competitive attitude which continues to lead him to success. He also
appeared on the Dennis Krause Show, local live radio shows, community
festivals, golf outings and there's plenty more to come.
With a busy recruiting period in July, Wardle plans to be
back out in the community in the month of August beginning with Taste of
Broadway Aug. 5 followed by Algoma Shanty Days Aug. 13-15, Brown County Fair
Aug. 18-22 and throwing out the first pitch at a Green Bay Bullfrogs game.
A family of athletes, Wardle is
married to a former soccer player, Lecia, and has two daughters, Mya and Emery
who are his biggest support staff, "We have a very active family and love to
stay busy. We truly have enjoyed making new friends over the past few months,"
said Wardle.
