GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - After a sophomore season which has seen him at times
struggle with his shot, Seth Evans
(Seneca, Ill.) has picked the right time to find his rhythm. The guard scored
21 points in a pair of Green Bay games this past weekend, hitting 7-of-11 shots
from the field in the process.
Evans'
production is a good sign for a Green Bay team heading into Tuesday's game at 6
p.m. at Wright State in the opening round of the 2011 Horizon League
Championship. In part due to the sophomore's play, seventh-seeded Green Bay has
won two of its last three games and played Horizon League co-champion Cleveland
State to the wire on the road Saturday.
In
Thursday's 71-60 win at Youngstown State, Evans scored nine points and dished
out three assists in 26 minutes. He was also a key perimeter defender as the
Phoenix held the Penguins to just 36.7 percent shooting and under 70 points for
the first time in six games.
On
Saturday at Cleveland State, Evans had one of his strongest efforts of the
season. Playing a season-high 32 minutes, Evans went 4-for-5 from the field and
hit two three-pointers while scoring 12 points.
