GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - A total of eight UW-Green Bay student-athletes from
three sport programs were selected as members of the 2010-11 Winter Academic
All-Horizon League Teams, the conference office announced on Tuesday. In all,
74 Horizon League student-athletes from six winter sports were honored in
balloting by the league's faculty athletics representatives and communications
directors.
The Phoenix landed three
women's basketball players on the academic all-conference squad, as well as
three from men's swimming and diving and a pair from women's swimming.
Seniors Kayla Tetschlag (Sheboygan, Wis.) and Celeste Hoewisch (Hortonville, Wis.)
and junior Julie Wojta (Mishicot,
Wis.) took three spots on the five-member women's basketball team after leading
Green Bay to a 34-2 record and its first Sweet 16 appearance while continuing
to excel in the classroom.
Tetschlag, a business
administration major carrying a 3.84 GPA, was the Co-Horizon League Player of
the Year, leading the ninth-ranked Phoenix in scoring with 14.2 points per
game. The senior recently garnered NACDA Division I-AAA Women's Scholar-Athlete
of the Year honors after being named to the Scholar-Athlete Team for the second
straight season. Tetschlag finished her career ninth on Green Bay's all-time
scoring list with 1,372 points and ranks in the top 10 in six individual career
record categories.

League Player of the Year with Tetschlag, is a human biology major with a 3.4
GPA. The senior guard was also named to the NACDA Division I-AAA
Scholar-Athlete squad, and was tabbed as an honorable mention for the State
Farm Coaches' All-American Team. Hoewisch averaged 13.6 points per game in her
final season and ends her career as Green Bay's sixth leading scorer (1,425
points) and as the school's career leader in games played (132).

holding a 3.5 GPA, was a second team All-Horizon League pick in 2010-11. The
junior started every game for the Phoenix, leading the team in assists (131) while

junior Lauren Caruso (DeForest,
Wis.) aided the Green Bay women's swimming and diving team to its seventh
consecutive Horizon League Championship in February, while Robert Gorycki (Prior Lake, Minn.), Dustin Dietrich (Kiel, Wis.) and Mitchell Spaeth (Fredonia, Wis.) helped the men's squad to a
fifth-place finish.

men's and women's indoor track and field. Valparaiso was second with 10
representatives, while Loyola followed with nine. Butler and Youngstown State
tied the Phoenix with eight selections apiece, with UIC (seven), Cleveland
State (six), Wright State (four) and Detroit (three) rounding out the league.
