VALPARAISO, Ind.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Jordan Dover (Ontario, Canada) scored his first career goal in the 59th
minute and helped the Green Bay Phoenix men's soccer team to a 1-1 tie at
Valparaiso (1-6-3) on Saturday evening. The Phoenix improved to 2-7-3 and 0-2-2
in Horizon League play.
Dover scored in the 59th minute to give the Phoenix
the lead when Alonso Flores (Chicago,
Ill.) found the freshman with a cross on the ground. Dover finished the pass at
the far post to give Green Bay a 1-0 lead. Flores led the Phoenix with three
shots fired and an assist.
Valpo tied the contest in the 79th minute when Jaymie
Bullard scored off a pass from Stipo Zeba.
Senior goalkeeper Ryan
Wehking (St. Louis, Mo.) made nine saves in the contest, including three in
the second overtime, to preserve the tie for the Phoenix.
Green Bay returns to action next Saturday when the
Phoenix travels to Chicago to face Loyola at 7 p.m.
