MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay softball (13-14) team took a break from Horizon League play as it split its double header against Big Ten opponent Minnesota (22-14) Wednesday, April 11 at JSC Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.

After being shut out 7-0, with just three hits in game one of its double header, Green Bay scored three runs in the opening inning of its second game for the eventual 5-2 win.

GAME 1 - GREEN BAY 0, MINNESOTA 7 - The Gophers got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning before scoring two runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings for the 7-0 win.

The Phoenix registered two hits and stranded two runners on base in the seventh inning.

GAME 2 - GREEN BAY 5, MINNESOTA 2 - With one out and two runners on base in the first inning Miranda Reinke (Milwaukee, Wis.) hit a three-run homer to left field, giving Green Bay the early 3-0 lead. The home run was Reinke's second of the season.

Reinke continued her solid performance from the plate, leading off the fifth inning with a triple to right center field. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Minnesota hit a solo home run to left field, before Green Bay's defense stopped the Gophers' rally for the 5-2 win.
